I mean, this is supposed to be a race car, correct? It has a full rollcage fitted to it, its rolling on slicks and all.
So why the hell does this thing have an iDrive?!
And air conditioning?!
And why haven't they fitted a proper racing instrument cluster?
I mean, they're using the regular 1 and 2 series cluster, that doesn't even show water and oil temperature.
This thing is too compromised to be sold as a regular car, but not nearly as compromised to be a proper race car, IMHO.
Since I'm already bitching here, I also have to say that both videos suck. The european car video was ruined by the music, and the other video just had plain bad driving.
Anyway, given that the car looks and sounds so good, here's to hoping that BMW eventually makes this a version of the M235i available to the regular consumers! hahah

This is not a full on GT1 (ha, remember FIA GT?
) car. For the 100th time, it's a homologation racer, so it doesn't matter how compromised it is; it will only race against cars just like it. The point is to have an accessible race car that "real people" can buy and race.
They literally take an M235i off the production line and turn it in to this thing.
