Of course you are correct....there are widespread variations in regional dialect in all countries. That was just some tongue-in-cheek local background for a dealer abbreviating to the point of being incomprehensible to those not familiar with the pattern, which some,
but not all, may use. The usage I've observed in the KW area in southern Ontario, after being married into the family for 35 years, does go far beyond one or two, however. Glad it's foreign to you as well...I have always found it disorienting.
