Yeah, the 2 grand coupe is based on the X1 which isn't the roomiest car in the world. My dad had a 2017 X1 xDrive28i M Sport and it a) rode stiff and b) was a bit cramped. We rented an X2 during a trip and that was even smaller.
Does the xDrive help mitigate that FWD feeling?
I can live with some of the tech stuff not being there (despite having everything in my '18 A4), but BMW should have at least included blind spot monitoring. It's not that big a deal in a smaller car like this, but if you're going to include lane keep and frontal collision, etc why stop there.
