The only bad thing I can find about this car is the wait!

I have been buying BMWs since 1998 and M cars since 2004. I consider myself a hard-core BMW and M fan but have not been too excited about recent offerings, including the M X5/X6 and F10 M5/F12 M6 (although I confess the M6 GC looks great). I liked the E9X M well enough but it wasn't special enough to replace my E39 M5 (after over 8 years of ownership, I'm never giving it up!). The E86 M coupe pushed the right buttons for me, leading to my most recent M purchase.

The 1 M was the first new BMW I was genuinely excited about since the E86 M Coupe. Manual only, limited frills, all performance. Extended drives (my friend ownes one) of the 1 M found that it lived up to all my expectations. I have VERY high hopes for the M2. The combination of longer development time and much greater production numbers vs. the 1 M will ensure this car is a "game-changer."
