If I had to go back and do over again, I would have not just gone with the lowest price but also had some confirmation they actually had an allotment that was ready to use. That seems to be the key: does the dealer have one at that moment. That was the issue with mine. They didn't have one, but assumed they could trade another dealer for one but there weren't that many floating around so it took some doing to get one.

Good point, that was one of the deciding factors for me when I was shopping around for quotes. However, I was surprised to see the lag between production number confirmation and build date. I was expecting the build date to be 2 weeks out (at most). This is my first time doing a factory order so that may be the normal window.
