Since I already own a 2011 335i e90 msport and am active on this forum...I decided to just create my e34 build thread on here.

10/16/14 Puchased an Island Green 1990 e34 535i. It had 181k miles on it and I bought it for $1,300. 4-speed auto unfortunately. Tan leather.

Bought the car on craigslist, clean carfax, always serviced at a BMW dealership.

Pros: Interior was in mint condition. Every interior and exterior light worked. Heated leather seats, sunroof, windows, heat, engine...everything worked fine.
Cons: Some rust on the bottom of the doors, paint had oxidation, scratches, and chips, some steering wheel play...wheels had some wiggle, no driver's side mirror.

Overall, not bad for a 25 year old car that spent its whole life conquering Chicago's winters.






10/18/14 Diagnosed the steering problem and it looked like a steering gearbox and pitman arm issue. Ordered a used gearbox+pitman arm on ebay. Found a good condition used green mirror and also ordered it on ebay.

10/22/14 My mirror came in...wiring was a little bit different because it was from a newer model. Had to cut the wiring and smolder them together. The mirror's motor works perfectly! Huge props to my dad for helping me with everything! Here are some before and after pics:



10/23/14 Took a trip to a junkyard with Dad (quality father & son time)...picked up a bunch of useful parts. Replaced the driver's side windshield wiper to a normal J-hook one to make my life easier. Replaced my trunk shocks because the trunk wouldn't stay open. Replaced my door holder because the door wouldn't stay open as well lol. Found some side trim in good condition too.
