Something else to consider when making the decision to lease: if something happens to your car and it is bother driver's fault, tens of thousands of dollars could be lost. I say this waiting for my 2014 528 to have $35k in damages fixed. The car was 9 days old and has been in the shop for more than two months. The driver was carrying the state minimum for property damage, $10,000. The car has more options selected than left off; it was more than $60k. Everything gets paid from the $10k - rental car, damage to the light pole (the city wants this but they didn't do anything to fix it) and diminished value.
The only thing that could be worse financially in this situation is if we would have bought instead of leased. BMWNA has to deal with it after the lease.
