By the time we see an M2, the N20 will likely we well on its way to being replaced by an I4 B48 that shares 70% of its parts with the B38.

It does not mean the M2 will get an S48 instead of an S20 (if it is indeed going to get a 4 cylinder at all), but don't bet against it.

And is priced pretty well, at least in the US market
It's going to be interesting to watch. I have a feeling the A3 sedan that is about to drop in NY will steal some of the thunder. BMW has the potential to compete favorably, but they did drop the ball a bit by not having a four door 1 or 2 ready sooner.
