Hi BP. No, my comment about cooling was light-hearted, if there's a loss then it's tiny and shouldn't bother those of us in temperate climes anyway.
It's hard to tell what but I felt that the overall noise levels dropped after I fitted them; probably a combination of road (tyre) and wind noise although there must be some engine noise too. I was early in the running-in period when I fitted them, I've since finished that and am driving "normally" now. I think the cruising noise levels are good, though not quite as quiet as my 3. I still get a characterful vroom at higher rpm but that doesn't last long before speed limits get in the way.
