As another data point.. Preproduction models of the 1M DID have the actual 1M seats in them.. with the correct color stitching..

Hm, here's a picture of a 1M test mule. Not yet the final 1M layout. Maybe the ultimate test mules got the production layout (as the one that you had the privilege to see and experience in Autumn 2010). |
They also put the E9x M3 seats in the 1M and we all know that didn't work out. They felt they didn't add anything to the experience. (Probably too expensive as well)
Maybe it will be different this time.
