I test drove both the MSport 228ix and M235i today. I didn't flog them too much, but the M235i was quicker, but also had some understeer in a tight corner where the 228i felt more nimble and planted. Some of which is attributed to weight like in my 328i but also the xdrive probably helped also, both fitted with 18"s, but the M235i had michelin PS.

The M235's traction control kicked in sooner and the rear stepped out more easily. Fun!
Both were wonderful, and I would be happy with either. Both had their +/-'s.

The 228ix had non-staggered (square) tires. 225/40's I believe.
I have a question for the 228i owners, both Msport and ones equipped with Track package.

Are the 228i MSports and the 228i with track package equipped with non-staggered tires?
