Depends on your priority. Get what makes you happy when driving it.
I've had a bunch of late model 911's and BMWs and no issues to either.
While the M235 is a nice car, personally I'd pick a 997.1 over M235i any day.
My old lady drives a '11 M3 vert and it's nice. I drive 997.2 C4S as my daily...pure joy.
