The DCT is a great box, and allows a lot of cross-over driving opps, if wanted. It's used well in several models and opens the door to more sales opportunities. Why limit the revenue potentials.

The main reason would be to keep people from choosing the M2 over the M3/M4. People are already cross shopping these cars in the M3/M4 forums.
Probably going for those impressed by the m235i but want a bit more performance out of it.
