Cool Spare in trunk

There is room in the trunk for a spare but you'll have to tie it down. The run flats are very heavy. You will also need a jack.

If you blow a run flat on a Saturday night 400 km from the nearest repair shop, you're s**t out of luck. BMW will flat bed the car to the nearest shop but how long will that take? All this for a flat tire????

I'm having 17" Michelin Pilot Primacy tires installed this week and I'll take my chances with getting a flat. The last blow-out was 25 years ago.

The Bridgestone run flats are far too noisey at all speeds and ride too hard. They seem to have lost their cornering grip in just 20,000 km. (12,500 miles)

I'll carry a patch kit and a portable compressor.
