What gives you the impression that this is a VANOS/VALVETRONIC failure? Do you have any additional information that the rest of us don't have, or are you just throwing out issues you've read about on the internet?
Unless someone has some additional information, all you can do is speculate, which leads to incorrect information circulating the forums. You end up with shit like, "I heard the M235i has VANOS issues in the OLoA race," which would be completely unsubstantiated at this point.
