That's optimistic. GSR Autosport weighed their 228i which was specifically optioned to be as light as possible, and they got 3189 lbs with about 2/3 full tank. The weights from the various reviews I've seen so far are:
Motor Trend: 3334 lbs.
Edmunds: 3344 lbs.
Car & Driver: 3353 lbs.
