Well I bought my 228i CPO at 4k miles. I purchased oil and filter at the dealer and did the oil change my self soon after purchasing the car. I found debris in the filter. A small white piece of plastic film and some smaller debris. The oil looked clean though, as it should have.
Yes I think it's worth doing a break in oil change.
