Nope. It just shifts the throttle response curve towards one that's more exponential, so the throttle comes on quicker in the pedal stroke. Pushing the pedal further down in comfort generates the same response from the engine as less of a pedal stroke in Sport. The two modes have the same response at both endpoints of the stroke (foot off the throttle and floored).

The ASD does get louder. I have mine disabled, so I don't tend to think of that.
