Whether he likes it of not; the CLA has played a major part in putting Mercedes in the US lead and back into the global race for the premium car leadership. This may be a way to shrug off the fact the Mercedes beat them to a new in the market.
It took them a while but they chased the CLS with 6GC and I see some sort entry level Sports Sedan version of the 1 or 2 coming eventaully.
