This model will be Europe only it also allows first time BMW customers entry to the BMW brand via the more sporting 2er if differing priorities do not require the 1er.
The engine introduction also extends the lead of BMW models that meet and exceed legislative targets, therefore they also save money by not paying fines.
This is BMW adapting to the issues at need and the market itself as premium compact cars are decimating volume compact cars within Europe therefore increasing sales and market share for the premium segment.
This introduction will be further proof of that.
