Interesting that this mill offers more torque than the M2's N55 variant. Obviously, the M2 still offers certain advantages with its M4-borrowed parts (braking, steering, suspension, DCT, etc.), but it wouldn't surprise if this M240i tempts away some would-be M2 buyers. Faced with waiting times and crazy dealer markups, some prospective M2 people are going to say, 'Hey, close enough.' Some are likely doing that already with the M235i, but these impressive engine stats make the switch that much more likely.
