I don't see BMW introducing it in 2015. There would be no "breathing room" for the M235i and M3/4. Ppl would wait out on the M2 an extra year and M3/4 sales could decline

the M235i is going away as soon as the M2 comes out....so that doesn't matter. I don't think M3/M4 sales will be affected by the M2....these smaller BMWs don't appeal to everyone it seems. People are after larger cars from the popular perspective. There's also this M3 'snob' appeal which the M2 doesn't have....just like the 1M didn't have. The M2 is less about image and more about FUN.
When i say 2015, introduced at the end of 2015 as a 2016 model.
