I agree that black is overdone. Not just in BMWs, but in pretty much all cars. I think the valencia orange is beautiful and very rare - that's what I would have gotten on mine, except I couldn't get it with the M-sport package. The only downside to that color is that it might make the car harder to sell down the road...
