Do you left foot brake? The r4 pads, were a little to grippy for minor mid turn corrections w the brakes.
The R4S lasted about -- eh 12000 street miles (ish) and 7 track days. Mind you, I am pretty hard on my brakes (on track) because I suck.

Can't say about the Yellowstuffs -- just got them last month. So far, I really like them. They have a bit harder bite than the R4S pads, but the R4S wasn't really "soft." Both pads seem to do well for brake modulation (trail braking, some left foot braking) as they are pretty progressive -- a little bite at first, and then A LOT OF BITE as you get more into the pedal. Both are quality pads -- can't go wrong with either.
