Stopping distance is not a reason to upgrade brakes. Any modern braking system is capable of triggering ABS from 60 mph on the first attempt. The available grip of the tires and the sophistication of the ABS software are responsible for stopping distances from 60 mph.

The reason for the upgraded brakes is to have greater thermal limits which allows repeated threshold braking when lapping a road course.
