I feel your pain. I went about 7 months with no curb rash. Then one day, I was getting ready to parallel park near the bottom of a hill and in my rear view mirror I noticed a guy on a skateboard barreling downhill like a maniac. To avoid him, I rushed the parking job and... BAM... curb rash on one rim. I sanded the spot down and bought BMW's (crappy) touch-up paint. It still bugs me.
