Great tip about getting a catted downpipe. I have one with the stock exhaust and golf tee mod. Nice increase in sound. I'd do this first since you'll get both power, increased throttle response, less lag AND sound. Heard great things about Fabspeed .
Don't do a muffler delete. I tried it and couldn't wait to get it back to stock. The drone in the most important rev ranges, 1.5-2.5k, is maddening. Some people like it but I just don't think it suits the character of the car. And this is from a guy who's owned an Evo 8 with full turbo back and 100 cell down-pipe. I like loud. Just not the wrong kind. I also lost some low end torque which was the most upsetting part.
