I wish I had gotten that warning. One day in terrible snow the only way I got any traction was to declutch in 3rd gear and kind of ride the clutch. The car moved but I didn't realize at the time that basically I was asking the clutch to modulate 2-300HP and basically put that amount of heat into it. Yes it smelled like a tire was burning in the back seat. Also its a weird feeling that anything could burn in that bitter snowy cold. I lost a clutch and in trying to get the car to move destroyed the 3rd gear synchro. This was a 2007 335i.
