I was able to purchase a set of the less expensive seal, side frame pns 51 48 7 348 779 and 780 from getBMWparts, ask for Jason. The parts were sent in from Germany and cost $9.30 a side plus shipping and handling, the total was $34.50. This is appears to be a simpler design than the more expensive seals shown earlier in the thread. These do not have adhesive but instead are more of a molded dense foam with a groove that slips over the inside of the inner fender lip nearest to the body and is held in place between the body and the fender by pressure.

The install took about 20min. Since they didn't come with any instructions you need to determine how to slip your fingers in around the door/fender openings and how the molded lip fits around the fender. Once that is figured out it goes very quickly.

Verdict: car is quieter, mostly from engine compartment noise...a slight decrease in wind related noise. Nice mod for the $35.
