I disagree with this completely...I'll bet for most 228i owners, the 228 is far more than a "good enough" decision. It best met their needs, their budgets, their passions etc..
They didnt "settle" for anything.
I could have spent $78k on an M4 if I wanted...Faster, sexier, sleeker than my M235. I choose the M235 instead and for all the reasons many of the 228i owners bought their cars over the 235..
