Absolutely this. I'm not saying the 2 looks bad, it just looks more similar to all the other new BMWs. The 1 had a little more of its own personality (even more so now).

most people looking at the M235 will just think "I should just get a 335". the 1er was unique in its segment....the 2er is far less unique.

I think this is pretty accurate. The M235i (which should be 235is
) is priced just a smidge cheaper than the 135is and in my eyes doesn't include quite as many goodies. I think most people will look at the price of the 228 with M-Sport and think...why would I spend another $12k or more on a M235i?
