I'm currently trying to decide between the Escort Max and a Redline/Valentine One. Have you used any of the other two before? How well does Escort Live work in the Florida area?

Escort live is garbage. Its not their fault but at the end of the day its a system that depends on who's out there using it and with Apps like Waze out there who's going to pay the subscription fee for this. I used it for about 2 years but now that I've discovered Waze I just use that on longer drives. Highly recommended.
As far as the radar goes, Ive had this since they came out and recently purchased a V1 for my dad, for his 911. So far I have to say i far prefer the MAX. The only feature that I wish I had that I don't is the arrows that the V1 has. Other than that the fact that the MAX has GPS built in which displays GPS speed, learns false signals and blocks then, and allows you to block signals yourself, I find really useful. Its also much prettier to look at with its nice color display.
Also the V1 is harder to see at night because the lights turn on and flash but you don't know what kind of signal is flashing because you can't see what it says next to those lights. In contrast the MAX displays all info on that nice backlit display so this isn't an issue. I am not sure if with the V1 there's different sounds for the different bands as I have not used it enough, and I know people swear by their V1's so I may be missing something.
I know from all the tests I've seen the range on these two is pretty close and so I'd say if it were my money and I was doing this again, I would again go with the MAX and not lose much sleep over it.
