I was thinking about it but ultimately decided to go with the M235i because a.) found an amazing deal I couldn't pass up and b.) all the perks of BMW ownership ie: complimentary maintenance, loaner vehicles, more robust enthusaist community, interior quality.
The R is a wonderful machine, just too much to pay as it is brand new right now. If you can manage get one for MSRP, worth considering, but most dealers are no budging on the $2k-$5k markup.
