As far as I know, a 2018 has LED taillights so no coding should be required. If you had a pre-LCD car with incandescent bulbs, you have to tell the rear computer that you now have LEDs and will have to change some code. Try plugging in your new taillight assembly and see if it doesn't throw an error message on iDrive. Good luck!
