I agree, if this really is launched as a 2 series I think all the people who've been complaining about the GC's being even numbers and the 3 series coupe becoming the 4 series, will all be pretty much justified.
BMW must have done this for a reason though... what have they got planned for the 1-er badge if this classes as a 2? Unless, it was just to try and leech some of the impression of sportiness from the 2 series Coupe... |

Even numbers signify Coupe, Sporty-looking Sedan or Sporty-looking Minivan.
