The N54 will be EOL'd once it is gone from the current Z4. It will not be used in any more cars.
It's still unknown if the M2 will get an I4 or I6 but I suspect that the I4 is favored for the weight advantage. Consider that the car will be positioned against the CLA45 which gets by with an I4. There will also be the RS3 sedan with its I5 possibly pushing 380hp or more, but probably with more weight to carry as well.
And the car will need to sit below its M3 and M4 brothers meaning 350hp or so is as much as it will get. An M engine based on the future B48 four cylinder seems like a good bet to me.
