impossible to find an answer on this. i want to buy michelin pilot super sports from the dealership and have them install those tires before i take delivery.

they should remove the top speed limiter on the car for me.

think about it, if you buy the car with PSS tires and then you switch them out for run flat tires aftermarket, its not like they retro-fit the car to have the speed limited to 130.
BMW has been doing this for years.

The car's limit speed (130 or 155) is set at the factory based upon the speed rating for the tires supplied with the vehicle. It's a straight liability issue. They don't want the lawsuit that would occur if the tires supplied with the car came apart at speed, and they're not going to make it easy for anyone to change it.

It cannot be changed by simple coding at the dealer. Some tunes that remap the ECU (Dinan, for one) remove the top speed limit set by the factory. Other do not. Ones that are simply a plug-on sensor map won't.

Bottom line: Order it with the All-season tires, and there's no inexpensive path to get the limiter increased.

Look at the bright side. In 2009, if you ordered the A/S tires on an N54 vehicle, not only did you lose the top speed limiter, you lost the separate oil cooler. That does not appear to be the case now.
