A 128i with factory (330i/Z4 3.0/X5 3.0) N52 3 stage intake manifold, headers, and a tune is 290-300 hp (with no decrease in reliability, your just ungimping what BMW to bring it down to "28" trim- stock N52s came with up to 282 hp from the factory, and the last 20 hp is headers, with is just unrestricting the exhaust path (not adding stress to the engine)).

and

Light weight 17s with non run flat tires gets the curb weight to <3100 lbs (no sunroof, manual coupe).

...Without the econobox materials, lack of sound deadening, or lack of power of the BRZ.

Best of both worlds. IMO, anyway.
