I feel like splitting it in two would give some more "depth" to the sound of it like a true dual exhaust set up but really have no idea.

Not sure about the differences but I ordered the axel back system yesterday should be delivered Saturday and assuming it get my car back from the collision shop this week I'll install early next week!
