BTW, I highly recommend this route if you can afford double payments for a month or 2. It shouldn't be an issue, as interest is running so low that you will get 99% of your money back after a couple of months anyways. Local dealer was offering me $27,500 on trade, he sold it on consignment for $33,000, minus a $1500 commission. $4000 more in my pocket; not insignificant. The car he sold for me previous to that was only $2000 more to me over what the dealer was offering, but hey, $2000 is still $2000.
One thing to consider. When trading in a car, you pay sales tax on purchase price minus trade in value. When selling your previous car, you pay sales tax on the full purchase price of the new car. With the 7% sales tax around here, you would save $1900 tax on a 27k trade in.
