Indeed. I had an f30 328i M-Sport loaner for 2 weeks a while back and it most definitely accelerates quicker and shifts quicker than any BMW I've driven. I attribute that largely to the 8spd gearbox. While the constant shifting feels intrusive at times, it was definitely quick on the butt dyno.
