Sorry. Digital Music Player. Check out FiiO or Astell & Kern. There are a number of other options out there too but those are a couple of the more common. The FiiO X1 is nice because it has in vehicle mode (that's what I run) but you can get ones with better DACs (digital to analog converters) or amps.
To VASTLY oversimplify matters, now that you have upgraded your speakers you can only do so much with what remains from the factory. Swapping the amp is one thing but that's expensive and complicated. By adding a DMP you basically make the stock stereo as dumb as possible and outsource the digital to analog conversion to a better unit. So it's coming into the car analog and the car doesn't have a chance to degrade the quality. You just rip CDs to lossless and load them up on the DMP or buy lossless files directly from a variety of sources.
I did the Bavsound speakers first, then the ghost subs. Was happy. Adding the FiiO after that still made a huge difference.
