The problem, as I have stated on previous threads, is the lack of a wire spring behind the retention legs. The plastic legs work fine at normal temperatures. Brake heat plus high ambient temperatures can cause plastic creep which reduce retention force of the legs. A C-shaped retention spring would fix the issue and is a common design feature on Ford and Toyota caps.
