How would you guys rate the room in the rear. The M235i would be my daily driver to work and our 7yr old and 9yr old would be in the back at the weekends. This would work easily I guess as other have said that even 5'10 adults would be ok for shorter trips in the back?

I would say the back seat is small ... I sat in the car and pushed the driver seat to my comfort level then looked behind there was only a leg space of 4 fingers (using my hand as a measure)... My kids hate riding my E90 because of that though it is a 4 door ... In the 2 series getting in and out is a real hassle ... Your kids will hate you. Do them a favor and get at least the F30. The 2 series is for couples with no children that is my 2 cents
