Finally got it back yesterday--had a loaner so it was not a big deal--and the paperwork says they found coolant leaking from hose between expansion tank and cylinder head.
17 12 14 48 Coolant hose with quick-release coupling leaking
part number B,17-12-9-845-173 hose, cylinder 1
Filled and bled coolant system and performed pressure test.
I guess it must have been a manufacturing defect as the car only has 36k miles on it. Everything completed with no charge of course.
