I do know that the N20's torque came on about 200rpms earlier than the B46. My understanding is that BMW changed the gearing on the ZF8 to accommodate for the torque coming on later. My other understanding is that at high speeds the B46 equipped cars are slower because of the gearing changes to better hwy mpg.
I'd love to see them do 0-60, 30-100, and possibly 0-top speed on a N20 car vs B46 car of the same. I have a feeling that outside of 0-60, the N20 equipped car is going to be quicker and have a higher top speed.
