It's not compatible with the hk systems in all series above the 2-series. Those are the cars with on-board equalizers and other goodies.

However, in the 2-series, the hk system simply adds better subs, a stronger amp, and 5 extra tweeters (1 each at all speaker locations excluding the subs) tied to the same channels as the base speakers. There's minimal controls for the radio (B/T/Bal/F), no equalizer, and so on. As such, it's the same as a HiFi system from the perspective of the BimmerTech amp.

They ask for your VIN when you order it, so there may be a difference in the harness they provide to you. However, in the 2-series, once you have it in hand there's no issue with hk vs. HiFi and no coding for radio type needed.

You do need to get rid of ASD, either by a harness or by coding, but that's it.
