Great write up. I have a ZHP sedan that has been my commuter for the past 5 years. I also have an F80 M3 as a toy, and I take delivery of a 228i Track Pack later this month.

I'm pretty sure I'll be impressed with the THP on my 228i, but I will own the ZHP until the day either I die or it dies. You're right in that it's not as good as a modern car with adaptive shocks and all the fancy tech, but I still love driving it, even back to back with my M3. It's a great "reference" car to keep around, as I think it was the pinnacle of that traditional BMW feel that doesn't really exist any more.
