I am interested in the engine options as well.
Because all of the indications and hints seem to be that the M2 or 2M will be a high strung 4cyl. See below:

I think some buyers would have a tough time psychologically accepting that the 4cyl is better (more powerful) than the 6cyl. But I would welcome a Tri or Quad Turbo 4cyl for the model topping M2 Coupe. I think the N20 in the current 328 is a good base and since we won't see an M2 until around 2015 or so. The engineers have plenty of time to tinker.
